Smartward™ believes in a novel idea: Using computer software to reduce human error in hospitals. Desktop, tablet or mobile phone? We cover many different platforms to suit your working habits at best.

Cross-Platform

Doctors will log in either from a DESKTOP or a MOBILE PHONE.

You therefore know all the doctors available ON SITE They can see all the patients on their base ward.

Task Allocation

Tasks can be sorted either in order of urgency or personal order.

Doctor and Nurses can allocate tasks to each other, with the option of placing a time limit for certain job

Real-Time Information

Everyone can ADD jobs quickly and track outstanding tasks.

It gives real time information on outstanding jobs. Avoid duplication of work, like taking blood twice!

Globally, over the past 48 hours more than 1000 people have died from hospital errors.

Currently, outstanding tasks are listed on handover sheets or post-it notes when a patient is moved from Accident and Emergency or from one ward to the other. If these pieces of paper go missing or are not looked at promptly, this could lead to important tasks being delayed or missed.

There is a need for a safe and effective way to handover important tasks in hospitals.

SmartWard™ Solution

Our application aims to improve handover and communication, thereby reducing human error.

For example, the app sends immediate notifications of outstanding tasks to ward staff receiving a patient from a different ward or Accident and Emergency.

The cross-platform app incorporates into the current system of using pagers or ‘bleeps’, by sending bleeps to alert the doctor that a new task has been added.

Also gives a visual representation of the current length of inpatient stay (LOS), against national averages. This aims to aid discharge planning.

SmartWard™ is a software company with one aim: to reduce human error in hospitals using computer software.

Our company was founded at Startup Weekend London, a Silicon Valley Comes to the UK 2012 event, in November 2012. SmartWard™ won the event, and was featured of page 2 of the remembrance Sunday issue of The Daily Telegraph.
